# Why Lakshmi Puja is the heart of Diwali

Diwali's lamps are lit for her: Lakshmi Mata, goddess of wealth, abundance and grace, is welcomed into a clean, glowing home on the night of Kartik Amavasya. Alongside her, Lord Ganesh is worshipped first — as always — so that the year ahead is prosperous and unobstructed.

Homes and businesses alike perform this puja: many UAE families bless the home in the evening and the shop or office earlier the same day.

# Preparing your home

• Clean thoroughly — Lakshmi is drawn to freshness and light (our teams can help with a pre-Diwali deep clean)
• Rangoli and diyas at the entrance to welcome her in
• The puja space — a chowki with red cloth, idols or images of Lakshmi and Ganesh, kalash, and offerings of sweets, fruits and flowers

With samagri delivery everything ritual-specific arrives prepared, and with flower decoration the mandir and entrance are dressed beautifully before the family gathers.

# The puja itself

Your pandit performs Ganesh vandana, kalash sthapana, the Lakshmi puja with shodashopachara (the sixteen offerings), the katha, and aarti — with every step explained so children and elders alike are part of it. Families often stream the aarti live to relatives abroad.

# When exactly is the muhurat?

Diwali follows the lunar calendar — Kartik Amavasya falls in October–November, and the Lakshmi Puja muhurat is a specific evening window that differs by year and by location's moonrise. Book early for Diwali week — it is our most requested night of the year — and we confirm your exact muhurat from the panchang.
